Interviews

I’ve done a lot of interviews.  It pays to take special care in understanding what the subject is going to say and then light and art direct the set accordingly.  Of course that’s not always possible.  The other thing I like to do is adapt the style of shooting to the person being interviewed.  Most the time I lock off a good frame, both wide and tight based on the “emotional weight” of what is being said but sometime I add dolly moves and even go hand held (those are my favorite).  Check out the following video (sans audio which sounded great by the way!) showing some different styles and some interesting people.
